OUR SCHOOL

Brahma Yoga is a progressive school with deep roots in traditional yoga. Our purpose is to inspire everyone to explore and understand Yoga in its different styles and perspectives. At Brahma Yoga we create space for tradition and modernity to co-exist.

By being open to the anew, we aim to guide our students on their own path of self-inquiry and to practice yoga as a way to awaken the mind for deeper spiritual practice.

Our training courses are focused on the path of Tapasya - the spiritual discipline from Hinduism through which one can achieve spiritual liberation. The practice of Yoga is a form of Tapasya. Through the correct performance of Asanas one opens the body and allows Prana to flow so one can also connect in deep meditation and therefore Moksha.

Brahma Yoga is now based in Upper Bhagsu (Dharamsala), Rishikesh and Arambol (Goa).

200H Teacher Training Course

Our training programs are focused on the branches of Yoga developed in modern times by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and Shri B.K.S Iyengar - Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa and Ashtanga. At Brahma Yoga we explore different perspectives such as flow versions of the traditional styles.

Brahma Yoga courses are open to all, regardless of the age, culture, experience, country or level of fitness. We make sure that all our students have the tools and equal opportunities to improve and learn to the best of their capabilities. We give strong attention to correct alignment and performance of the Asanas. Mantra Chanting, as well as Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra, are parts of our programme.

The 200H TTC is a first level of training that will support you understand the basic principles of yoga practice and philosophy. Through our training program, you can become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance and start your professional experience in the path of Yoga.

Drop-In Classes

Our Yoga studio in main market Arambol in between om Ganesh super market & shivkripa super market is open from Monday to Saturday with the following schedule:

8.30 am – 9.45 am      Hatha Yoga + Pranayama (for begginers)

10.00 am – 11.30 am     Traditional Ashtanga Yoga

11.45 am – 1.15 pm        Vinyasa Flow (all levels)

3.30 pm – 5.00 pm         Hatha Flow (all levels)

Hatha Yoga, “union through discipline of force”, stresses mastery of the body as a way of attaining a state of spiritual perfection in which the mind is withdrawn from external objects. It develops strength, flexibility, bodily relaxation, and mental concentration. The purpose of Asana is to enable one to rise above body-consciousness.

Hatha Flow is a sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow.

Ashtanga Yoga, “eight-limbed yoga”, is a system outlined in the yoga sutras attributed to the ancient sage Patanjali. The yoga sutras are general guidelines for spiritual growth through right living, and are universal; they consist of eight limbs or requirements to achieve full Self-realization. They are not practiced in order, but are all developed together as one progresses on the spiritual path. Meditation is one such technique that helps a spiritual practitioner to develop in these areas.

Vinyasa is a Sanskrit term that refers to a transition between two different positions; nyasa denotes "to place" and vi denotes "in a special way". Vinyasa is a sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow. It creates a movement meditation that reveals all forms as being impermanent and for this reason are not held on to.
